In 1961, Pete Kattos known as 'Petey, the Little Greek' proudly opened his first restaurant in Oak Lawn, Petey's Bungalow Restaurant and Lounge. Petey is from a small village in the northern mountains of a Greek island situated in the Aegean Sea. He immigrated to the United States as a young man in the pursuit of the American dream. When he came here, he was hired as a cook and learned the ins and outs of the restaurant business. With his drive and ambition to succeed, along with his confidence and hard work ethic, he opened his own restaurant. Petey's Bungalow was a bungalow style house which was converted into a restaurant. Petey's Bungalow is open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.
In 1969, restaurateurs Pete and Mary Kattos were inspired to open their second location in the heart of Orland Park, Petey's II Restaurant and Lounge.
"We appreciate your business and the wonderful memories
we've shared serving you through the years. Thank you for
dining at our restaurants in Oak Lawn and Orland Park,"
shares Pete Kattos.
